The essentials before comparing quotations

View the service: Private jet cabin cleaning

Private jet cleaning cannot be confirmed like ordinary property cleaning. Before a quotation is approved, the airport, aircraft type, useful operational reference, ground window, authorised contact and exact passenger-cabin zones must be known. The operator, FBO or ground handler then confirms how the team may enter the restricted area, whether an escort is required, where equipment can be brought in and who will release the aircraft after the service. MayClean does not present airside access as automatic. This operational step protects the flight schedule, airport security and passenger confidentiality.

Once access is workable, the brief may cover leather seating, tables, armrests, carpets, lavatory surfaces, external galley surfaces, mirrors and visible touchpoints. Cockpit, avionics, technical compartments, exterior washing, catering, laundry and repair of leather or veneer remain separate. A useful quote therefore states who controls access, the time genuinely available, permitted products, drying requirements, result limitations and the exact cabin handover time.

01Airside access must be organised before the attendance is confirmed.
02The operator, FBO, handler or appointed representative validates the operating route.
03The passenger cabin must be separated from cockpit and technical areas.
04Leather, veneer, lacquer, metal and textiles require compatible methods.
05Drying and final review must fit inside the real ground window.

01

Who must authorise access to the aircraft?

The first question is the chain of authority, not the seat count. The person requesting the service may not be the person who can admit a team or equipment to an airside area. Côte d’Azur airport guidance distinguishes professional access, authorised sectors and airside activity requirements. MayClean therefore asks which operator, FBO, handler or airport service owns the access process and whether the proposed route uses an activity authorisation, individual credentials, an escort or another approved arrangement.

The quotation remains conditional until this route is confirmed. That avoids arriving with names that were not registered, equipment that cannot pass the control point or an assumed parking position that has changed. The appointed contact should state where the team reports, what identity information is required, how equipment is screened and who opens and closes the aircraft. MayClean never bypasses a restriction or describes access as secured when it still depends on the platform or operator.

  • Airport and aircraft operating area
  • Operator, FBO, handler or authorised representative
  • Credential, escort and equipment-entry procedure
  • Names or documents required before attendance
  • Person responsible for opening and releasing the aircraft

02

How to define the actual cabin scope

“Complete aircraft cleaning” is not a sufficiently precise brief. A passenger cabin can include seats, visible belt surfaces, tables, armrests, reachable side panels, internal windows when authorised, carpet, open storage, lavatory surfaces and the external faces of the galley. The request should distinguish presentation before boarding, recovery after a rotation, scheduled upkeep and a deeper textile treatment. Configuration and current condition are more useful than relying on the aircraft category alone.

Cockpit, avionics, closed technical compartments and safety equipment are not part of this standard cabin scope. Personal belongings, operational documents, catering, linen and consumables remain with the party assigned by the operator. An unusual liquid, residue, odour or contamination concern must be identified before attendance so that the correct response is decided by the authorised party. This separation prevents presentation cleaning from being mistaken for maintenance, specialist disinfection or material restoration.

  • Seat count, passenger zones and lavatory
  • Galley external surfaces or other specifically authorised work
  • Carpet, rugs, upholstery and identified marks
  • Cockpit and technical areas expressly excluded
  • Catering, linen, waste and personal effects assigned

03

Why product instructions matter on leather, veneer and textiles

A premium cabin often combines leather, lacquered veneer, polished metal, textile, carpet, glass and screens within a small area. One universal product is not appropriate. The operating brief should identify approved or prohibited products, existing surface treatments and anything that must not receive moisture or spray. Cleaning may improve the presentation of marked leather or lacquer, but it cannot repair wear, scratches or a failing finish. A clear limitation is more useful than a promise to make every surface look new.

Textiles also require a decision on moisture and drying. Deep extraction may be incompatible with a short ground stop, limited ventilation or equipment beneath the carpet. MayClean assesses the fibre, stain history, nearby systems and available time before choosing a method or recommending a local test. Detail photographs may help, but they should be authorised and framed to avoid registrations, flight information, screens or unnecessary personal data.

04

How cabin cleaning fits into a ground window

The time between arrival and the next departure is not all available to a cleaning team. Disembarkation, inspection, catering, fuelling, maintenance, crew preparation and boarding may use the same period. The operational contact needs to state when cabin access actually begins, which other teams will be present and the non-negotiable finish time. Unmanaged simultaneous work can slow the service and cause a finished area to be crossed again.

The programme should retain time for drying, equipment removal, final review and departure from the restricted area. An urgent request can be assessed, but it does not remove access or material constraints. If the window contracts, the authorised contact selects the priorities: lavatory, tables, visible seats, circulation carpet or specific marks. A quote can separate a minimum presentation brief from additions that remain possible only while access and time are available.

  • Actual cabin-access time
  • Other teams working during the turnaround
  • Required completion time before inspection or boarding
  • Drying and replacement time
  • Priority list if the operating window becomes shorter

05

Confidentiality, photography and cabin handover

Discretion needs operational rules. Passenger names, flight details, documents and photographs should be limited to what is genuinely needed for the service. Personal belongings are not opened or moved without instruction. Before-and-after photographs are taken only when authorised and should avoid the aircraft registration, documents, displays and identifying information. The operator may impose additional telephone, storage or transmission rules that the team needs before entering the aircraft.

Handover uses one appointed representative. A short checklist records the approved zones, any limitation observed and work that was deliberately excluded. A persistent stain, wear mark or pre-existing defect is reported without being converted into a repair promise. The representative confirms when the cabin can be closed and that no equipment has been left aboard. This process protects both parties and creates a precise reference for the next turnaround.

06

How to compare two private jet cleaning quotes

Compare the named zones first, then access and time. A lower amount may assume that credentials, escort, equipment entry and parking have already been organised. Review the materials, proposed methods, stain limitations and drying period. Expressions such as “VIP detailing” or “complete service” are not enough unless the seats, tables, carpet, lavatory, galley and excluded areas are clear. Responsibility for catering, linen and waste should also be visible.

A robust quotation explains what happens if the aircraft changes position, the ground window is reduced or access is not granted. It identifies who may change the brief and who accepts the result. MayClean reviews enquiries for Nice, Cannes-Mandelieu and other French Riviera platforms according to the access procedure, aircraft, cabin scope and resources required. Airside availability is never assumed before the authorised parties have confirmed it.

Included when confirmed

  • Authorised passenger-cabin zones listed in the quote
  • Seating, tables, carpet, lavatory and reachable surfaces agreed
  • Organisation around ground time and product instructions
  • Compliance with the confidentiality brief
  • Final review with the appointed representative

Not automatically included

  • Airside access that has not been confirmed
  • Cockpit, avionics and technical compartments
  • Exterior washing, maintenance or material repair
  • Catering, laundry and personal effects without assignment
  • A guarantee that every historic stain or wear mark will disappear

Frequently asked questions

Answers before making a decision

Does MayClean automatically hold airside access?

No. Access depends on the airport, activity, credentials or escort required and the authorised sponsor. Attendance is confirmed only when the applicable procedure has been organised.

Can a cabin quotation be prepared from photographs?

Yes when authorised images are supported by the airport, aircraft type, operating window, cabin zones, finishes and access contact. An operator call or inspection may still be required.

Is the cockpit included in cabin cleaning?

Not in the standard scope described here. Cockpit, avionics and technical zones remain excluded unless a separate brief, authorisation and appropriate competence are confirmed.

Can deep carpet cleaning be completed before departure?

Only when the fibre, nearby equipment, ventilation and drying time are compatible with the operating window. A lower-moisture presentation method may be more appropriate.
